Dr. Stephen Justason - Owner/Veterinarian

The Sussex Animal Hospital was established in 1983 by Dr. Ian Leask and Dr. Stephen Justason. It was the first and only animal hospital in Sussex, NB for many years and Dr. Justason’s purpose hasn’t changed since the beginning. He strives to provide honest, fair, and compassionate service to all clients. He works with an amazing team who hold the same mission and vision. He couldn’t do what he does without them. When he is not working, he can be found researching health and fitness, playing amateur naturalist and cycling the roads and trails of beautiful Kings County, Albert County, and Charlotte County.

Irene and Ivan - Management

The crew lucked into these two characters in the summer of 2022. A box of kittens was discovered on the back steps when staff arrived to work. Their siblings were all adopted to loving homes, but Irene and Ivan won everyone over. They have adjusted to clinic life nicely and are very well known to the clients. Their strong work ethic had them climbing the ladder quickly. They were promoted to management in just a few short months and are loved dearly by all.
